Need support beyond EU grants?
Business Design & Operational Setup
A clearer plan. A credible organisation. Practical support to move forward.
Starting an association, launching a business or bringing structure to a growing organisation? You may know what you want to achieve without having every piece in place.
EU City helps you assess the opportunity, develop a credible plan and establish the foundations your organisation needs. The focus is practical: informed decisions, clearer priorities and fewer avoidable mistakes before you commit more time and money.
Alongside its specialist EU grant advisory work, EU City offers complementary support in market research, strategic and business planning, internal governance, operational setup and business-led website design.
When This Helps
These services are designed for associations, SMEs and start-ups facing a concrete decision or transition: establishing an organisation, launching a new activity, preparing for investor or partner discussions, formalising internal responsibilities, or creating a website with a clear purpose.
You can commission a focused assignment or combine several areas into a coordinated programme of work. The scope follows your needs, not a standard package.
Market & Strategy
Is the opportunity worth pursuing, and where should you focus?
Before investing in a launch or new direction, understand the environment, the needs you intend to address and the alternatives already available.
Support may include:
- Market studies, customer or member needs assessment, and competitor and stakeholder analysis.
- Value proposition, positioning, and business or membership model development.
- Strategic plans defining priorities, resources, development options and implementation milestones.
What you receive: a clearer basis for deciding what to pursue, what to test and what to leave aside. Depending on the scope, deliverables may include a market study, positioning brief, strategic plan or development roadmap. Evidence, assumptions and information gaps are clearly distinguished.
Plans & Credibility
Can you explain your proposition and support it when questioned?
Investors, funders, partners and boards need more than an attractive presentation. They need to understand the opportunity, the resources required, the assumptions behind the numbers and how delivery will be managed.
Support may include:
- Business plans connecting activities, resources, revenue or funding assumptions and implementation.
- Business cases comparing options, expected benefits, costs and risks.
- Financial planning models, cash-flow scenarios and funding requirements.
- Investor, funder or board presentations, with supporting evidence and preparation for likely questions.
What you receive: a coherent plan or decision-making case that is easier to explain and examine. The aim is to strengthen credibility through substance: realistic assumptions, consistent information, clear responsibilities and an honest account of risks.
This work supports informed discussions. It does not guarantee investment, funding or approval.
Governance & Operations
How will your organisation actually work?
A legal structure alone does not establish who decides, who delivers or how accountability is maintained. Practical governance connects the organisation's purpose with its day-to-day operation.
Support may include:
- Organisation-setup planning and coordination with relevant professional advisers.
- Founder, board, management and operational responsibilities.
- Decision-making procedures, delegations, approval arrangements and internal governance policies.
- Reporting routines, document management, essential workflows and implementation planning.
What you receive: practical tools appropriate to your organisation's size and stage. These may include a setup roadmap, organisation chart, responsibility matrix, governance framework or operating procedures.
The objective is useful structure, not unnecessary bureaucracy.
Business-Led Website Design
A website built around what your organisation needs to achieve.
Your website should do more than establish an online presence. It should explain what you offer, give the right people reasons to trust you and help them take the next step.
EU City approaches website creation through your organisation's objectives, audience and positioning. These foundations guide the content, structure, design and functionality, connecting how you present yourself with what you actually deliver.
Each assignment considers:
- Purpose: the enquiries, applications, bookings, sales or stakeholder engagement the website should support.
- Coherence: alignment between your activities, claims, content, visual identity and actual capabilities.
- User journey: how visitors find relevant information, assess your offer and take action.
- Operational fit: how the website will be maintained and how incoming requests will be handled.
What you receive: an agreed website brief, content and page structure, design and build, and practical handover arrangements.
Available as a standalone assignment or as part of a broader Business Design & Operational Setup engagement. A defined discovery and positioning stage is included in the website scope. Full market studies, wider strategic work, hosting and ongoing maintenance are separately scoped where required.
How We Work
- Clarify the need. Discuss your objectives, current situation, constraints and immediate decisions.
- Agree the assignment. Define deliverables, timetable, fees and the information required from your team.
- Develop and implement. Work through agreed stages, with review points and practical outputs.
- Hand over and progress. Explain the deliverables, identify remaining actions and agree any further support separately.
Assignments can begin with a specific need and develop in phases. You do not need to commission every service.
Scope & Boundaries
Services are advisory and implementation support, with responsibilities and exclusions agreed in writing. They do not include statutory audit, certification, regulated investment advice or fundraising intermediation. Formal legal, notarial, accounting or tax work requires appropriately qualified professionals where applicable.
Discuss Your Project
You do not need to arrive with a finished brief. Start with what you are building, what is already in place and the decisions you are finding difficult.
The first discussion helps establish whether EU City is the right fit and what a useful assignment would look like.
