Confidential by default
Discussions, working material, and findings stay inside the engagement. Discretion is the baseline, not an option.
About
EU City is a senior, confidential advisory on EU grant risk and compliance — for coordinators, beneficiaries, CFOs, general managers, and compliance leads, at award, during implementation, and before reporting, closure, or external scrutiny.
Founder background
Sorbonne legal training. Over fifteen years in service to the European Commission and private-sector beneficiaries of EU funding, including Joint Undertakings, large multi-beneficiary grant agreements, procurement, GDPR, governance, and audit procedures.
Operational experience with EUR 200M+ Specific Grant Agreements and a EUR 1.2B+ EU co-financing programme, on both coordinator and beneficiary sides, with a sustained error rate below 1% across multiple annual audit cycles — and as former Data Protection Officer in an EU institutional environment.
Why the perspective is unusual
Most grant support reads one axis: legal, or financial, or administrative. A defensible EU grant file sits at the intersection of all three, plus governance, evidence discipline, procurement logic, and control-readiness.
EU City reads the file the way a serious reviewer would — and gives leadership a practical way to correct it before the reviewer arrives.
Working style
Discussions, working material, and findings stay inside the engagement. Discretion is the baseline, not an option.
Output is pitched at CFO, general counsel, and board level — prioritised, readable, and decision-ready, not technical for its own sake.
Clarity before escalation. Method before spectacle. The point is to reduce exposure quietly, not to generate drama.
Scope of advisory
EU City does not perform statutory audit, certification, or assurance engagements. Where such work is needed, it is referred to an independent qualified audit firm on request. EU City stays on the ground of confidential internal advisory: file reading, vulnerability identification, practical corrective direction at management level.
